Dr. Melissa Marie Kempf was born and raised in San Antonio. She left for Lubbock, TX to
attend college at Texas Tech University and then stayed for Medical School. She spent 2 of 4
years in Lubbock and 2 years in El Paso where they have a secondary campus. Family
Practice Residency was done in Conroe, TX at the regional hospital. The residency program
was associated with UTMB Medical School at that time. She then spent 3 years in the USAF,
stationed at Keesler, AFB in Biloxi, MS. During those 3 years she deployed to Incirlik, Turkey
for 3 months during Operation Enduring Freedom, providing coverage in the Emergency Room
for active duty personnel, their families and local Turkish people. After the Air Force, she
moved back to San Antonio to be closer to family and has been here ever since 2004 along with
her only daughter Zoe. Medicine runs in the family. Her older brother, Dr Kevin Kempf is a
Rheumatologist in San Antonio as well. Currently she has a busy practice doing primary care,
urgent care, personal injury, workers compensation, hormone replacement therapies and
treatment for incontinence as well as evaluations for dementia. She does minor injections like
trigger points and also joint injections as well as minor procedures like toenail removals,
biopsies, and suturing lacerations.
